There can be little doubt in anyone's mind that the institution of marriage in America today is in big trouble. The result of thousands upon thousands of divorces is shattering the very foundations of our land.

I am increasingly convinced that one of the main reasons there are so few marriages today that come anywhere close to being what they ought to be is because there are so few people who are continually holding before their eyes the ideal that is the life of Jesus Christ.

Genesis 2:18	And the LORD God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him."
Exodus 20:12	"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you."
Ephesians 5:22-30	Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
1 Peter 3:6-7	As Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror. Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
